Hillview Boston Terriers Sydney are a small boutique breeder of Boston Terriers, located in Camden, NSW, Australia.

Our breeding dogs are our family pets and live here with us in our home. We have selected our dogs specifically in order to produce a line of Boston Terriers that are held to a high standard of health and temperament. We are registered breeders with Master Dog Breeders Australia, breeder #29220

Our focus has been on improving physical traits to reduce common health problems including spinal deformities such as hemivertebrae, hip dysplasia and breathing issues that result from Brachycephalic Syndrome. This ensures the physical ability  of our dogs match the robust, active and agile temperament that encapsulates this breed. This sets us apart from other breeders who produce dogs for type and appearance only.

We work alongside vets and DNA specialists to ensure dogs are free from other breed specific hereditary diseases including Juvenile Cataracts. 

​

We also pride ourself on our high standard of animal welfare. Our dogs are part of our family, they are never caged or locked up. They have 24 hour access to our grassed yard as well as a bricked, insulated and temperature controlled dog room. Our dogs are walked regularly and fed a high quality diet made up of raw meat and bones as well as Black Hawk dog food.

We will never breed with a dog who cannot whelp on her own. We do not believe that it is fair to put a dog through the trauma of a cesarian section. The RSPCA have a great article regarding the welfare risks associated with difficulty giving birth in brachycephalic dogs, click here to access it. They state that 91% of Boston Terrier puppies are born through cesarian section, not only does this  involve major surgery, anaesthesia poses risks for brachycephalic breeds due to their respiratory  problems and post-surgical-pain management is required for the mother who must cope with her pups suckling near the region of the surgical wound (1).

We will always prioritise the health and welfare of our dogs and we believe this is what sets us apart from so many other breeders.

We are advocates of the RSPCA and make monthly donations so that we are able to support their important work.
